Governor Haribhau Bagde said that the new National Education Policy needs to be implemented wholeheartedly. He said that this policy is such that India will be able to become a superpower in global knowledge in the coming times.He said that this education policy is going to connect humans with moral values. With this, the people of the country will move forward on the path of becoming citizens. He called for effective implementation of the new National Education Policy and called upon teachers to play an important role in it.
Governor Shri Bagde was addressing the national workshop “National Education Policy 2020” organized by Rajasthan University, Commissionerate College Education, National Higher Education Department and Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Trust on Wednesday.He said that education is not just the study of textbooks, it is also the path to imbue a person with human values. Discussing Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, he said that he always laid emphasis on the whole and not on the individual. The new education policy is related to this approach.
The Governor said that human values ​​have been given priority in the new education policy. He said that only if the teacher keeps himself connected with new knowledge, he will be able to build the intellectual capacity of the student. He expressed the need for teachers to educate students wholeheartedly. He said that Macaulay tried to completely westernize the Indian education policy. Education commissions and policies were made in the country but we were not free from the thinking of the West, Teaching of mother tongue and life behavior is necessary in education. The new education policy is related to this. So make every effort to implement it in practice.
The Governor said that India has been rich in knowledge and science since the beginning. Giving the example of Bhaskaracharya, he said that the scientific conclusion of zero given by him in his time,The people of the West accepted it.  He said that India was a world leader with its knowledge. Again there is a need to carry forward that knowledge tradition. The Governor also inaugurated the souvenir of the workshop on this occasion.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa said that the new education policy is linked to the rich knowledge tradition of ancient India and said that there has been inertia in education for decades. The emphasis in education has been on rote learning. But the new education policy is going to promote problem solving skills for building an equality based society along with an inclusive approach. Dr. Atul Kothari of Shiksha Sanskriti Trust laid emphasis on adopting the new education policy and implementing it in practice.The Governor said that the country can be changed only through education. The country can be given a new path of development. He also informed in detail about the Education Culture Trust.College Education Commissioner Mrs. Aarushi Malik informed about the innovations being made in higher education by the state government under the Indian knowledge tradition.
College Commissioner Shri Omprakash Bairwa gave information about the discussion to be held in the two-day workshop for the implementation of the new education policy. Vice Chancellor of Rajasthan University, Dr. Alpana Kateja gave the welcome address. Mr. Nitin Kasliwal coordinated the program.
