Minister Avinash Gehlot : On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Barmer District Collector Tina Dabi was honored for her excellent work in the field of welfare and service of persons with special disabilities. During this, the coordinated efforts under Nav Barmer and Shaksht Samaj Abhiyan in Barmer district were appreciated.
During the state level function organized at Bhagwant Singh Auditorium in Jaipur, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Avinash Gehlot and Commissioner and Special Government Secretary H Guite presented a memento to Barmer District Collector Tina Dabi. And honored with a citation. During this, the works related to welfare of disabled people in Barmer district, coordinated efforts under Nav Barmer and the Strong Samaj Abhiyan were appreciated.It was informed about running a campaign on its lines in other districts of the state also. Specially qualified people selected in various categories during the state level program.And the best individuals and organizations working for the specially abled people were honored with an amount of Rs 10,000, citation and awards.
It is noteworthy that in compliance with Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s budget announcement point number 92 for the year 2024-25, on behalf of Barmer District Collector Tina Dabi in collaboration with the District Administration and Social Justice and Empowerment Department, for the welfare and empowerment of disabled people.An innovative initiative was taken in the form of ‘Navo Barmer-coordinated effort Sashakt Samaj Abhiyan’. Through this campaign, Barmer emerged as a model district for the welfare of disabled people. In Barmer district, through coordinated efforts under Navoo Barmer, Sashakt Samaj Abhiyaan, 2130 disabled certificates were approved along with screening of 7025 people.For the first time in the state, a portal was launched to provide information about guidance and facilities to the disabled. Apart from this, disabled friendly audit of government offices was also conducted on the lines of polling stations.
Initiative for empowerment of Divyangjan: Innovative initiative for empowerment of Divyangjan was taken through Nav Barmer coordinated effort Sashakt Samaj Abhiyan.For this, camps were organized at subdivision headquarters and certificates were issued from the medical board and linked to government schemes. Apart from this, assistive devices were made available to the disabled people on a large scale through the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.Navo Barmer Coordinated Effort Empowered Society Campaign was started in Barmer district on 6 October 2024. Despite many challenges due to Barmer being a desert district, this campaign proved to be a boon for the disabled people due to the coordinated efforts of the state government and administration. For the successful organization of the campaign, District Collector Tina Dabi held meetings with officials of Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Medical and Health Department, Panchayati Raj and Revenue Department and related stakeholders and ensured necessary arrangements in the camps through departmental coordination.Help desks were set up for registration of disabled people and information about schemes. 10 e-Mitra counters were arranged by the Information Technology and Communication Department at each camp site.

Minister Avinash Gehlot, It was not an easy task to identify the disabled people in the geographical disparity and remote areas of Barmer district. For this, medical boards were sent to all the subdivision headquarters. This board included orthopedic, eye, ear, throat and psychiatry experts.Under this campaign, Women and Child Development Department has been made nodal for marking the age group of 0-6 years, Education Department for marking the age group of 6 to 18 years and Panchayati Raj Department for marking the age group above 18 years. Department was created. Screening of 7025 people was done by the Medical Board at 8 subdivision headquarters of Barmer district.
Thousands of disabled people got benefit: 2130 disabled certificates were approved by the Medical Board after examining 7025 people in the disabled certificate and UDID card approval camps.Minister Avinash Gehlot, out of 2130 approved certificates on Swavalamban portal, 1477 were verified at the first level and 1545 UDID cards were issued.Similarly, in the disabled camps, 122 children of 55 disabled people were linked to the Palanhar Scheme. 875 children of disabled persons who were deprived of renewal were renewedAnd for the session 2024-25, approval of Rs 39 lakh 37 thousand 500 was issued. Under the Social Security Pension Scheme, new applications of 73 disabled people were approved and they were benefited.Similarly, 310 roadways passes were issued and applications of 72 disabled people were made under the Chief Minister Special Yogjan Self-Employment Scheme. 72 disabled persons were identified and applied for an electric wheelchair worth Rs 1 lakh for the disabled suffering from muscular dystrophy.
