Rajasthan Minister Sanjay inspected the Elephant Rescue and Rehabilitation Center and Butterfly Conservatory of Tiruchirappalli

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Forest and Environment, Rajasthan Minister Sanjay Sharma, during his three-day visit to Tamil Nadu, on Thursday inspected the Elephant Rescue and Rehabilitation Center located in the Palayam Reserve Forest area of ​​Tiruchirappalli district.

Rajasthan Minister Sanjay Sharma inspected the special arrangements made there like shower bath, mud bath, swimming pool, elephants’ food, living space, coolers, fans, foggers etc. to protect the elephants from the rising temperatures in summer season. He also took information about other facilities made for the rehabilitation of elephants from the personnel of Tamil Nadu Forest Department and said that the basic arrangements made for the rescue and rehabilitation of elephants are excellent.He said that the experience gained from the visit to the Elephant Rescue and Rehabilitation Center of Tiruchirappalli would be beneficial for the conservation of elephants in the state.

Inspected the Butterfly Conservatory—

Rajasthan Minister Sanjay Sharma inspected the Tropical Butterfly Conservatory located in Tiruchirappalli district and took information about the process of construction of the Butterfly Park there as well as the maintenance of butterflies, on which the Forest Department officials said.There are about 129 species of butterflies in the conservatory spread over 25 acres and it is the largest butterfly conservatory in Asia. Also, proper arrangements have been made here for environment friendly butterflies.He said that butterflies are very important for the healthy environment of the ecosystem, conservation of biodiversity and sustaining life on earth. He said that efforts will be made to build such parks in Rajasthan also in future.
