Rajasthan News : Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena said in the Vidhan Sabha on Monday that there is sufficient availability of urea in the state and urea and other fertilizers have been supplied as per the demand in all the districts.
Rajasthan News ,He assured the House that strict action would be taken against the culprits on receipt of complaints of irregularities in distribution and supply of fertilizers.
The Agriculture Minister was replying to supplementaries asked in this regard by the members during the Question Hour. He said that in the year 2024 and 2025, urea was supplied as per the demand in Churu district and the supply of DAP fertilizer was affected due to increase in international prices. In view of the partial shortage of DAP in the state along with Churu district, alternative fertilizers SSP and NPK of DAP were supplied to the farmers.
He said that the government is taking strict action against those involved in black marketing of fertilizers. The vigilance team of the department is constantly monitoring the situation. He informed that during the tenure of less than two years of the present government, 117 surprise inspections were conducted whereas during the entire tenure of the previous government, not a single surprise inspection was conducted. At the same time, 423 samples, 80 seizures, 64 FIRs were also processed by the present government, which is the highest ever.
The Agriculture Minister informed that the department has also taken action to suspend 126 licenses, cancel 37 and suspend 11 officials by taking more than 28 thousand samples to provide quality fertilizers to the farmers. He said that Village Service Cooperative Societies are provided fertilizers on priority basis so that farmers get fertilizers at reasonable price. The farmer cannot be forced to buy other products along with fertilizer. On finding such cases, the godowns of two big companies have been sealed.
He informed the House that a letter has also been written from the Chief Minister, Agriculture Minister, Chief Secretary, Secretary Agriculture Department to the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers of the Central Government for adequate supply of fertilizers.
Earlier, in a written reply to the original question of MLA Shri Pusaram Godara, the Agriculture Minister said that to provide fertilizers to the farmers, the State Government prepares an estimate of the demand for fertilizers based on the consumption, available stock and sown area in the past years and submits it to the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India before the Kharif and Rabi crop season, the allocation and supply of which is determined by the Central Government.
He informed that against the demand of 37,194 MT of urea of Churu district in 2024 (April to March), 39,224 MT has been supplied including the initial stock available in the district on 1st April 2024 and against the demand of 13,894 MT of DAP, 11,411 MT has been supplied. Alternative fertilizers of DAP SSP 3365 MT and NPK 1668 MT were supplied. Thus a total of 16,444 MT of Phosphatic Fertilizers were supplied to Churu.
Against the demand of 11,500 MT of urea of Churu district in the year 2025 (April to August), as on 1st April 2025, 14,351 MT has been supplied including the initial stock available in the district and against the demand of 6,900 MT of DAP, 6,075 MT has been supplied. Alternative fertilizers of DAP SSP 1183 MT and NPK 805 MT were supplied. Thus, a total of 8063 MT of Phosphatic Fertilizers were supplied to District Churu. He placed the details on the table of the House.
The Agriculture Minister said that in order to make the fertilizers available to the farmers as per the demand, the stock available on the Fertilizer IFMS Portal and the stock available in the block of the district is thoroughly reviewed and the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India is requested to coordinate with the fertilizer suppliers and manufacturing companies and supply fertilizers through rakes.
