RAJASTHAN NEWS : On the last day of the ongoing Megh Utsav at Jawahar Kala Kendra, on Sunday, the mesmerizing performances of world renowned Kabir Sufi singer Muralala Marwara enthralled the audience. Hailing from the Kutch region of Gujarat, Muralala filled the ambience with spiritual flavour and musical emotions by rendering Kabir ‘s Vani in his unique folk-Sufi style.
‘Mann Laga Mere Yaar Fakiri Mein ‘,’ Jhini-Jhini Bini Chadiya ‘along with Meera Bai’s rendition of bhajans enthralled the audience. The unique confluence of folk, Sufi and Bhakti in their performance turned the Megh Utsav into a memorable experience. From the beginning of the program, the enthusiastic presence of music lovers was seen and the auditorium reverberated with applause till the end.
Smt. Shreya Guha, IAS, Chairperson, Delphic Council of Rajasthan, Smt. Veenu Gupta, Chairperson, RERA, Shri D. B. Gupta, Former Chief Secretary, Shri Satish Garg, Chief Accountant General, Smt. Neha Giri, Project Director, Rajivika, Smt. Kavita Singh, IAS and Shri Nishant Jain, IAS were among the distinguished guests present on the occasion.
Smt. Shreya Guha informed that the Megh Utsav was organized as a welcome to the monsoon and a celebration of the rich folk culture of Rajasthan. Artistes from various parts of the country participated in the two-day event.
The festival was organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, North Zone Cultural Centre (Patiala), West Zone Cultural Centre (Udaipur), Jawahar Kala Kendra and Rajivika. The programme was attended by a large number of people from different walks of life including prominent personalities from society, administration, politics, media, education and culture.
