RAJASTHAN NEWS: The National Lok Adalat will be held on Saturday, March 8, as per the directions of the National Legal Services Authority. The Lok Adalat will be held in all the subordinate courts, revenue courts, consumer commissions and other administrative tribunals of the state, including Jodhpur and Jaipur benches of the Rajasthan High Court.
The Lok Adalat at Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur will be inaugurated by Justice Chandrashekhar, Chairman, State Legal Services Authority and Judge, High Court, while at Jaipur Bench it will be inaugurated by Justice Inderjit Singh, Chairman, High Court Legal Services Committee.
The National Lok Adalat provides an opportunity to the public to settle their cases amicably, simply and expeditiously through resignations. On this occasion, Benches of four retired Judges have been constituted in the Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur, where 3,170 pending cases will be disposed of. Similarly, four benches have been constituted in the Jaipur bench to dispose of 1,503 pending cases in the Lok Adalat. As many as 468 benches have also been set up in the subordinate courts where the cases will be heard.
Shri Hari Om Atri, Member Secretary, Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority said that there is enthusiasm among the public and parties towards the National Lok Adalat. While the parties themselves are presenting their cases in the Lok Adalat, the advocates are also motivating them to adopt this easy option of settlement through resignation.
