Rajasthan News : Nirmala Sitharaman at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan ,New Delhi on Wednesday saw detailed deliberations on making the tax system across the country more transparent, simple and people friendly.
Representing Rajasthan in the meeting, the strongly placed the state’s stand and informed that the meeting specifically discussed the aspect of how to make the GST system smooth and orderly for traders and common citizens, as well as the need for revision of tax rates, exemptions and concessions, measures to provide relief to small traders, and providing convenience and transparency to honest taxpayers through technical means.
The Minister of State for Industry informed that the upcoming reform measures in the GST system will not only reduce the complexities in the tax system but will also strengthen the revenue receipts of the state governments, thereby providing more facilities to the common man.
He said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, a historic tax system like GST has strengthened the economy of the country in the direction of One Nation, One Tax. GST has not only simplified the process of doing business, but also strengthened the financial position of the states.
Shri Vishnoi expressed confidence that the upcoming reforms will be a relief for both common citizens and businesses and will give new momentum and new heights to the Indian economy. The meeting was attended by Chief Ministers and Finance Ministers of various states, Secretaries of the Department of Revenue, Chairman and Members of CBIC and senior officers of the Ministry of Finance.
