Rajasthan News Update : CM Bhajanlal Sharma said that in the protection of trees, Maa Amrita Devi along with 363 others sacrificed their lives—a sacrifice for environmental conservation unmatched anywhere else in the world.
Rajasthan News : He emphasized that the Khejri tree is not just a tree but also a medicinal resource, while Ker and Sangri are unique symbols of Rajasthan’s identity. The Chief Minister made these remarks on Wednesday during an interaction with a delegation from the Bishnoi community at his office. He informed that under the Hariyalo Rajasthan campaign, the state government has set a target of planting 500 million saplings in five years. As part of this initiative, 75 million saplings were planted last year and around 110 million this year, with the support of “Van Mitras.” He added that the government has taken key policy decisions for environmental protection and will incorporate necessary provisions into rules whenever required.
Highlighting the Bishnoi community’s invaluable contribution, CM Sharma said that they have always set exemplary standards in environmental and wildlife conservation. Other communities and groups draw inspiration from their dedication. He stressed that the government too is promoting public participation in environmental protection alongside development through various campaigns.
The Chief Minister further noted that for thousands of years, Indian culture has revered trees, mountains, and rivers, and protecting the environment and wildlife must remain the foremost priority for all, ensuring balance in nature.
During the meeting, the Bishnoi delegation suggested adopting the Japanese Miyawaki tree plantation technique and including special provisions for environmental and wildlife protection in development projects. They also expressed gratitude to CM Sharma for the ongoing Hariyalo Rajasthan campaign.
On the occasion, Minister of State for Industries and Commerce Krishna Kumar K.K. Bishnoi, former Minister Sukhram Bishnoi, Swami Bhagirath Das Shastri, Acharya Sant Goradhanram Ji, Mahant Swami Bhagwan Das Ji, Kripacharya Ji Maharaj, Bhagirathdas Ji Maharaj, Swami Sadanand Ji, Swami Omkaranand Ji, Swami Shyamdas Ji, along with several public representatives and prominent members of the Bishnoi community were present.
