RAJASTHAN NEWS : To promote rooftop solar, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between DISCOMs and Tata Power Renewables. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the three power distribution companies of the state and Tata Power Renewable Energy at Vidyut Bhawan on Friday to promote the PM Suryaghar free electricity scheme in the state. In the presence of Shri Alok, Additional Chief Secretary (Power), the MoU was signed by Ms. Aarti Dogra, Chairman, DISCOMs and Shri Dipesh Nanda, CEO & MD, Tata Power Renewables.

Additional Chief Secretary Alok said that a large number of registrations have been done in the PM Suryaghar Yojana, and this partnership with Tata Power will help the DISCOMs to convert these registrations into installations. He also said that the goal of the state is to connect the common people with solar energy and reduce their electricity expenditure.

Mr. Dipesh Nanda, CEO, Tata Power Renewables said that the PM Suryaghar Yojana is an important initiative towards making the common man an energy producer, and the company will help increase people’s participation in this scheme through its network in the state.

Under the ambitious scheme of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, PM SuryaGhar, the objective is to take solar energy to every household through rooftop solar. So far, roof top solar has been installed in more than 26 thousand houses in the state in less than a year. Under the MoU, Tata Power will provide necessary support to DISCOMs to promote rooftop solar through training and awareness activities of renewable vendors.

Shri Nathmal Didel, Managing Director, Broadcasting Corporation, Shri Devendra Shringi, CMD, Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam, Shri K. P. Verma, MD, Ajmer DISCOM and officials of Tata Power Renewables were also present on the occasion.
