Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha Speaker Shri Vasudev Devnani said that freedom was not won by us, it was the result of the sacrifice and struggle of innumerable bravehearts. He said youths like Hemu Kalani embraced the gallows instead of kneeling before the British. No sacrifice belongs to any one community, it belongs to the entire nation.
Mr Devnani reached Nohar during a day-long visit to Hanumangarh on Sunday. Addressing a public meeting here, he said the Sindhi community left everything at the time of partition and established itself in every nook and corner of the country and led a dignified life. He said that when he was the Education Minister, he included the lessons of Hemu Kalani in the curriculum of class 9th and 11th, which today 20 lakh students are studying. “This country does not consider invaders great, it considers great men like Maharana Pratap great.
He also unveiled a statue of Hemu Kalani at Hemu Kalani Chowk in Sindhi Bazar. People in the crowd chanted ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai. ” He also attended programmes at Bharat Mata Ashram and Shri Amar Lal Saheb Mandir in Nohar. Earlier in the day, hundreds of party workers gathered at the residence of BJP’s SC Morcha state president Kailash Meghwal in Rawatsar.
Shri Devnani said that conspiracies are being hatched to weaken India, but it is a post-2014 India, which is ready to give a befitting reply to every challenge. Referring to the Pahalgam attack, he said the brave soldiers entered 100 km inside Pakistan and destroyed the hideouts of terrorists.
