The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajkot city unit has submitted a memorandum to the Rajkot Collector, demanding that drought-like conditions be officially recognised in affected areas and an immediate relief package be announced for farmers and livestock owners.
The memorandum was submitted under the leadership of AAP Rajkot city president Rajesh Dangariya. Party office-bearers and workers highlighted the difficulties being faced by farmers and cattle-rearers due to inadequate rainfall and urged the administration to take immediate measures.
AAP Raises Concern Over Low Rainfall
According to the party, several talukas of Rajkot district have received inadequate rainfall this year, creating drought-like conditions in various areas. The shortage of rain has reportedly affected crops and reduced agricultural production.
AAP said the damage to crops has put additional financial pressure on farmers, whose economic condition is already under stress. The party urged the district administration to provide timely assistance to affected farming communities.
The Rajkot Drought Declaration demand has been raised against the backdrop of concerns over crop losses and water availability across affected parts of the district.
Demand for Immediate Relief to Farmers

The Rajkot city AAP unit and the district organisation also announced their support for the ongoing protest led by AAP Gujarat president and farmer leader Isudan Gadhvi at Jamkhambhaliya in Devbhumi Dwarka district.
Gadhvi is sitting on a protest under the banner of the Drought Declaration Satyagraha, demanding recognition of drought-affected areas and relief for farmers.
AAP Rajkot leaders said they stand with the farmers participating in the movement and support the demands being raised through the agitation.
AAP Seeks Action from Administration
Through its memorandum, AAP urged the administration to take concrete steps in all affected talukas of Rajkot district. Its demands include recognising drought-like conditions, providing financial assistance to farmers, ensuring water supply through the Sauni Yojana and arranging adequate fodder for livestock.
