Rakesh Bedi reacts to ₹1 crore bonus rumours from Dhurandhar 2, joking “kiski jeb mein hai?” while clarifying he hasn’t received any extra payment.
Reports recently surfaced claiming that director Aditya Dhar and producers Lokesh Dhar and Jio Studios were so impressed by the “Jameel Jamali” craze that they handed Rakesh Bedi a cheque for ₹1 crore, effectively doubling his original fee.
When asked about this windfall, the veteran actor didn’t hold back his trademark wit. Refuting the claims, Rakesh Bedi quipped:
“Many people are telling me that I received ₹1 crore from the production house… Brother, where is it kept? Whose house is it in? Whose pocket is it in? Please tell me where someone has buried it so that I can go and get it, because it’s not in my account yet!”
He further added that while he might not tell anyone if he did get such a huge sum, as of now, his bank balance remains unchanged.

The “Jameel Jamali” Phenomenon
Rakesh Bedi has spent five decades in the industry, but Dhurandhar 2 has given him a second innings like no other. His character, Jameel Jamali, was initially seen as a quirky, conniving politician with viral catchphrases like “Bachha Hai Tu Mera.” However, the climax delivered the shock of the year: Jamali was revealed to be an elite Indian intelligence agent undercover in Karachi for 45 years. This twist turned Rakesh Bedi into the “Dark Horse” of the film, earning him praise that rivaled the film’s lead, Ranveer Singh.
Ranveer Singh’s Massive Compliment
The bond between the cast was evident during the shoot. Rakesh Bedi recalled a moment from the final day of filming when Ranveer Singh took the microphone to pay him the ultimate tribute. Ranveer reportedly said:
“If this film does ₹1,000 crore business, ₹500 crore of that will be because of Rakesh ji!”
As it turns out, Ranveer’s prediction was modest. According to box office trackers, Dhurandhar 2 has scripted history, becoming the first Hindi film to net over ₹1,100 crore in India and crossing the ₹1,700 crore mark globally.
A Career Resurgence at 71
While the ₹1 crore bonus might be a myth for now, the professional rewards for Rakesh Bedi are very real. Following the success of the franchise, the actor has seen a surge in brand endorsements and new film offers. Whether or not the cheque eventually arrives, Rakesh Bedi has already secured the biggest prize of all: a permanent place in the hearts of a new generation of cinema-goers
