In an interview with The Times of India, Ram Kapoor openly acknowledged the remarks and took responsibility. “Let me start by saying that everything I’ve been accused of saying, I have said it. So, the fact is that I am guilty as charged,” he stated. He explained that when he is with people he feels comfortable around, he tends to be his “bindass” (carefree) self and does not intend to offend anyone.
Despite his claimed intentions, Ram Kapoor admitted that his comments had an impact. “The comments I made came from a harmless space, but the bottom line is that those team members, who are half my age, did get offended, and that’s not acceptable,” he said. Kapoor expressed his respect for the OTT platform’s decision to remove him from the promotional activities and stated his intention to apologise personally to those affected.
This incident brings to light an important discussion about professionalism and boundaries, especially in media and entertainment spaces where informal banter and humor are common. Experts emphasize that while intent matters, it does not erase the impact of inappropriate behavior. Workplace environments—whether creative or corporate—must be safe and respectful spaces for all.
