Ranbir Kapoor faces backlash after a viral ‘Dining With The Kapoors’ video contradicts claims of his sattvic lifestyle for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. Social media questions PR strategy as debate intensifies.
Ranbir Kapoor has found himself at the centre of a fresh controversy after a viral video appeared to contradict earlier reports that he had adopted a strict sattvic lifestyle to prepare for his role as Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited film Ramayana.
For months, several media reports claimed that the actor had quit alcohol, stopped eating non-vegetarian food, given up smoking, and followed regular meditation and sattvic practices to embody the mythological character.
Viral ‘Dining With The Kapoors’ Clip Sparks Debate
However, a newly surfaced video from Dining With The Kapoors, released on the occasion of Raj Kapoor’s 100th birth anniversary, has triggered online backlash. In the clip, Armaan Jain is seen serving Fish Curry Rice and Junglee Mutton to the Kapoor family.
Ranbir Kapoor is seated at the dining table alongside Neetu Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Rima Jain, Saif Ali Khan, and other family members as the non-vegetarian dishes are brought out.
This visual contradiction has led many to question the authenticity of earlier claims that Ranbir had switched to a sattvic diet out of respect for his role.

Social Media Calls Out “PR Misinformation”
The video quickly went viral, prompting users to accuse the actor’s PR team of fabricating the sattvic lifestyle narrative.
One tweet gaining attention read: “Ranbir Kapoor’s PR team claimed he gave up non-veg food for Ramayana, but he is seen enjoying fish curry, mutton, and paya. Ranbir has the most effective PR in Bollywood.”
Another user criticised the publicity strategy, writing: “PR teams of Bollywood actors should be fired. Why claim he gave up non-veg and drinks for the role? Who asked for this narrative?”
High Anticipation for Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’
Despite the uproar, excitement around Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana continues to grow. Ranbir Kapoor stars as Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi plays Sita. Yash will portray Ravana, Sunny Deol will take on the role of Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey plays Laxman.
Stellar Ensemble Cast Adds to the Film’s Buzz
The film boasts a star-studded lineup featuring Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodri and Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha. The cast also includes Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha, and Indira Krishnan, making it one of the most anticipated mythological adaptations in recent years.
