IND vs. USA: On the eve of the game, which takes place at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday, out-of-form all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube gave it their best chance of getting back to form as India prepared to take on the hosts USA in their third Group A match of the T20 World Cup 2024.
For the optional training session, the vast majority of the Indian cricket team players chose to remain in their hotel rooms. That being said, three players showed up at the Nassau County stadium to work up a sweat, including Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja.
Jadeja and Dube were partnered by Rishabh Pant, who has contributed useful knocks in India’s two T20 World Cup 2024 matches thus far. Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Shubman Gill, and Rinku Singh, the Indian traveling reserves, also seized the chance to warm up in the middle.
Focusing on the forms of Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja
Shivam Dube has not been able to deliver well with the bat since he was selected for the 2024 T20 World Cup Indian side. The 30-year-old has a best score of 21 in his eight innings, including six in the 2024 Indian Premier League. Twice he has been written off for a duck.
Shivam Dube was eliminated for three off nine balls in the pivotal match against Pakistan. India was counting on Dube to step up in a time of need after losing its important hitters early. The right-hand hitter for India versus Bangladesh in their lone practise match was able to score 14 runs off of 16 balls.
With the bat, Ravindra Jadeja has also had difficulty. In his last eight games, he has only twice reached the 20-run threshold. India was bowled out for 119 in 19 overs against Pakistan after he was removed for a first-ball duck. In six innings, the left-arm spinner has also failed to claim a wicket. Coach backs for bowling in India Jadeja Ravindra Ravindra Jadeja, 35, has the support of his bowling coach in India, Paras Mhambrey, who believes that he only needs one strong performance to go back on track. “The competition is lengthy. I believe that someone with Jadeja’s level of experience only needs a game to help him gain his bearings and feel comfortable. Furthermore, we are confident that with his experience and skill set, he will prevail in your games.
India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey stated, “so that confidence we have in not only Jadeja but honestly with someone like Dube and others as well,” during the pre-match press conference on Tuesday.
