Kannada actor Risheekaa Ssingh has raised questions over the portrayal of women in the trailer of Yash-starrer ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’. The actor expressed her disappointment with some of the scenes and questioned the way female characters have been presented in the upcoming gangster drama.
Risheekaa Ssingh Questions Yash’s Scene
Risheekaa Ssingh took to Instagram to share her reaction to the Toxic trailer. She specifically criticised a scene featuring Yash and objected to what she described as an inappropriate representation of women.
In her video, the actor questioned why Yash had to appear in a nude scene and also referred to his personal life while making her criticism. She ended her message with a strong statement suggesting that such portrayal would not be accepted in Karnataka.
Actor Raises Questions About Women’s Representation
In another video, Risheekaa Ssingh clarified that she wants Kannada cinema to grow and reach a wider international audience. She also welcomed the fact that Toxic is a major Kannada production featuring Bollywood actor Kiara Advani.
However, she said she was disappointed with the way women have been portrayed in the trailer. According to her, the film features several female actors, but she questioned whether any of them had been presented in a positive or complimentary manner.
Kiara Advani’s Portrayal Also Questioned
Risheekaa Ssingh specifically questioned Kiara Advani’s portrayal in the film. She referred to a controversial dialogue from the trailer in which a woman is asked about her “rate”.
The Kannada actor questioned why a Bollywood star like Kiara was brought into the project if her character was going to be presented in such a manner. Her comments have now added another layer to the discussion surrounding the film’s trailer.

Yash Fans Hit Back at the Criticism
Following the actor’s comments, some of Yash’s fans responded on social media. Several users argued that she was judging the film based only on its trailer and should watch the complete movie before forming an opinion.
One section of fans also pointed out that Toxic is directed by filmmaker Geetu Mohandas, a woman, and questioned whether the criticism about male ego was justified. Others compared the reaction with the portrayal of women in other films.
