Samajwadi Party
On Sunday, the Samajwadi Party announced seven additional candidates for the Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha elections. Bhishm Shankar ‘Kushal’ Tiwari, a former MP, would be representing the party in the Domariyaganj seat.
Party leaders said that with this, the Akhilesh Yadav-led party has revealed the identities of 57 candidates in the state.
Former BSP leader and current MP from Shravasti, Ram Shiromani Verma, has been fielded by the party for the seat, as per the list made public by the SP on X.
Additionally, the party has announced Laxminath, also known as Pappu Nishad, as its candidate for the Lok Sabha constituency of Sant Kabir Nagar.
Additionally, Babu Singh Kushwaha, a previous close assistant of BSP head Mayawati, has been granted a ticket by the SP. The SP’s Jaunpur candidate is now him, according to party spokesman Rajpal Kashyap.
The Samajwadi Party has declared Ramashankar Rajbhar, a former Salempur BSP MP, its candidate in this election. From 2009 until 2014, he served as the Lok Sabha representative for Salempur.
Apart from this, the SP has also fielded Amarnath Maurya from Phoolpur and Priya Saroj from Machhlishahr.
According to Kashyap, contender for Domariyaganj Tiwari served as MP for Khalilabad from 2007 to 2009 and Sant Kabir Nagar from 2009 to 2014. At that time, Tiwari belonged to the BSP; in December 2021, he joined the SP.
In the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections of 2022, Kushwaha’s Jan Adhikar Party was a member of the Bhagidari Parivartan Morcha coalition. In the election, the party was unable to secure any seats.
