Samsung starts the One UI 9 rollout with new Galaxy AI, privacy, security, personalization and device care features for compatible Galaxy devices.

Samsung has officially started expanding One UI 9 to more Galaxy smartphones, bringing a refreshed mobile experience along with new Galaxy AI tools, personalization options, security features and easier device management. The rollout initially covers the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra, following its introduction on Samsung’s latest foldable devices.

One UI 9 brings smarter Galaxy AI features

With One UI 9, Samsung is focusing on making everyday smartphone tasks more convenient and personalized. The update adds several AI-powered features designed to help users create content, manage information and complete tasks with fewer steps.

One of the notable additions is My FanCam, which can automatically follow a selected person in a recorded video and keep them centered as they move through the frame. The feature is aimed at users who want to create polished social media videos without spending time manually adjusting the footage.

More control over daily information

Samsung is also introducing new Generative and Editable Cards in Now Brief. These cards allow users to customize the information displayed in their daily summaries, including areas such as health, weather and video content.

Another addition is Warranty and Care, which places device-support options inside the Settings menu. Users can check warranty information for connected devices, perform self-diagnostics, view estimated repair costs and access Samsung Care+ services where available.

One UI 9 makes everyday tasks easier

The One UI 9 update also introduces improvements designed to reduce the number of steps required for common activities.

Now Nudge can provide context-based suggestions during certain activities. For example, while discussing plans through supported messaging services, users may be able to access reservation information or save a shared location without leaving the conversation.

Creative Studio has also been enhanced with suggestions based on upcoming occasions. Users could receive ideas for creating themed images or greetings for events such as birthdays.

Translation and scanning receive upgrades

Samsung has added a new Thread View to Interpreter, allowing users to look back at earlier parts of a translated conversation more easily. Conversation Mode also receives faster translation, while compatible Galaxy Buds can provide quicker playback.

Document Scan has been improved to handle difficult materials, including curved book pages and folded corners. Samsung says the feature can reduce the need for manual adjustments and produce cleaner digital copies.

Voice Recorder is also getting a more structured summary experience, with information organized using elements such as headings and tables for easier reading.

New security and privacy tools

Security and privacy are another major focus of One UI 9. Samsung is introducing Security Brief, which brings important alerts related to malware, unknown-source applications and unnecessary permissions into Now Brief.

Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to identify potential privacy concerns, including certain background attempts to access permissions. The feature is intended to give users more visibility into how information and device permissions are being used.

Scam Detection is also expanding to additional markets and languages. Samsung says the feature will be available in Japan, Canada and India, subject to market, language, device and software requirements.

One UI 9 rollout will expand to more Galaxy devices

Samsung says the official One UI 9 rollout has already reached the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8. The company has now begun expanding the update to the Galaxy S26 series, while additional compatible Galaxy devices are expected to receive it gradually.

Availability of individual features can vary depending on the country, language, device model, carrier and software version. Some AI-powered functions may also require a Samsung Account or an internet connection.

With its combination of AI-powered tools, enhanced personalization, improved productivity features and additional privacy controls, One UI 9 represents Samsung’s latest effort to bring a more connected and customizable experience across its Galaxy ecosystem.
