Sanjay Singh
Sanjay Singh, a member of the Aam Aadmi Party, was arrested on Friday. The BJP claimed that Sanjay Singh had broken his release agreement by speaking about the Delhi excise scam case, and warned that his actions would have dire repercussions.
Senior advocate and BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia stated at a press conference that although Sanjay Singh attorney had promised the Supreme Court he wouldn’t discuss the case, he had brought up the subject in his interactions with the media and maintained that there had been no scam.
The two party leaders who are still incarcerated, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, are among the other defendants who the AAP MP is allegedly providing the “clean chit” to, according to Bhatia. The leader of the BJP claimed that Singh has been misleading people by making factually false claims.
“There will be severe repercussions,” he declared, charging him with “contempt” for the highest court.
Sanjay Singh stated that majority of the accusations made against the AAP leaders in front of a magistrate under Section 164 of the CrPC were made under duress, according to his allegations. Bhatia went on, “Statements made before a magistrate cannot contain any coercion.” He claimed that the AAP is prone to disobeying court orders and breaking constitutional requirements.
