AAP MLA from Burari, Sanjeev Jha, has criticised Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Verma following remarks over the participation of the local MLA in a recent road inspection in the constituency. Jha alleged that the minister’s statement was not limited to a political disagreement but amounted to disrespect toward the residents of Burari whom he represents.

The controversy follows a recent inspection of Burari’s 100-foot road by PWD Minister Parvesh Verma and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari. According to the Aam Aadmi Party, Jha was not invited to the inspection. The party has said that Verma subsequently indicated that the Burari MLA would not be invited to such an inspection in the future.

Sanjeev Jha Questions Constitutional Conduct

Reacting to the episode, Sanjeev Jha said an elected minister holding a constitutional position should work for residents across Delhi without allowing political differences to affect public administration.

Sanjeev Jha argued that an elected representative from the constituency should be able to raise questions about infrastructure and civic issues, particularly when a major road project is being discussed. He said the remarks attributed to Verma reflected a disregard for constitutional propriety.

The Burari MLA further alleged that the minister’s approach showed personal resentment rather than a focus on resolving problems faced by local residents. These comments are part of the ongoing political exchange between AAP and BJP leaders over development work in Burari.

Road Project Became Centre of Political Dispute

The dispute is also connected with the condition and proposed redevelopment of Burari’s main 100-foot road. Earlier, Sanjeev Jha had claimed that AAP had repeatedly raised the issue and worked with officials on technical aspects of the proposed road work.

According to Jha, the tender process for the road had moved forward after sustained pressure and discussions with officials. He also questioned why the local MLA had not been included in the minister’s inspection despite repeatedly raising the issue.

Jha Makes Nepotism Allegation Against Verma

During his criticism, Sanjeev Jha made a personal political allegation against Parvesh Verma, linking the minister’s political career to his family background. Jha claimed that Verma benefited from being the son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma and accused him of benefiting from nepotism.
