Saurabh Bharadwaj raised concerns over MCD corruption and illegal construction in Delhi, citing Saket building collapse and Hauz Rani fire incident.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi State President and senior leader Saurabh Bharadwaj held an important press conference addressing allegations of corruption within the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the rising issue of illegal construction in the capital.
He stated that despite repeated complaints, authorities have failed to take timely action, raising serious concerns about public safety and governance.
Concerns Raised Over Saket Building Collapse and Hauz Rani Fire Incident
During the press briefing, Saurabh Bharadwaj referred to two recent incidents — the collapse of a five-storey illegal building in the Saidulajab area of Saket and a major fire accident in a hotel in the Hauz Rani area of Malviya Nagar.
He said these tragic incidents are a direct result of administrative negligence and unchecked illegal construction activities in Delhi.

Allegations of Administrative Negligence
The AAP leader alleged that corruption within the MCD system is enabling unauthorized constructions across the city. He claimed that despite multiple complaints, the responsible departments have failed to act decisively.
According to him, this lack of enforcement has significantly increased risks for citizens living in unsafe buildings.
Public Safety at Risk
Saurabh Bharadwaj emphasized that illegal structures and weak enforcement mechanisms are putting the lives of ordinary citizens in danger. He urged the authorities to take immediate and strict action against violations to prevent further tragedies.
