Shark Tank Judge Redefines MBA: “Masters in Building Awesome Things”
Shark Tank India judge and Shaadi.com founder Anupam Mittal recently stirred discussion in the professional community by questioning the relevance of traditional MBA programs. In a LinkedIn post, Mittal described most MBAs as “outdated” and urged young professionals to focus on hands-on learning instead of spending years in classrooms.

Learning by Doing Beats Case Studies
Mittal emphasized that building products provides a far better training ground for accelerating a career or preparing to run a company. Using his own journey as an example, he said, “That’s how I started. As a Product Manager. Case studies and frameworks are nice, but they don’t teach you how to question the status quo or influence without authority.”
The Shark Tank judge redefined MBA in his own terms as “Masters in Building Awesome things”, explaining that with this approach, learning happens every day rather than over a fixed two-year period.
