Smt. Jyoti Yadav :The Mahtari Vandan Yojana provides support and stability to rural women entrepreneurs

Smt. Jyoti Yadav, a resident of Gram Panchayat Ajgarbahar in Korba district, has witnessed a transformative change in her life through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. This government initiative provides women beneficiaries across the state with Rs. 1000 per month. For more than a decade, Smt. Jyoti has been running a small roadside snack stall where she sells urad dal vadas. Although her business encounters challenges, the monthly assistance from the scheme has become a crucial support for her family.

Smt. Jyoti Yadav shares that preparing urad dal vadas is a labor-intensive process. She must purchase dal, oil, and spices, clean the dal, soak it, and then grind it early in the morning using a large stone mortar and pestle. This rigorous routine involves long hours of hard work. Despite her efforts, she often earns just Rs. 200 to 300 daily, making it difficult to sustain her livelihood.

Her roadside eatery, known for its freshly prepared urad dal vadas served with spicy chili and tangy tamarind chutneys, attracts occasional passersby. However, due to the low traffic in the area, her business remains modest. Despite these challenges, her dedication and honesty have earned her loyal customers who return for her delicious snacks.

Smt. Jyoti Yadav dedication to using pure ingredients has earned her the trust and loyalty of her customers, who regard her as an honest and dependable vendor. She proudly shares, “Some people sell adulterated vadas, but I always make them with pure dal. That’s why my customers keep returning to my shop.”

Despite the ongoing challenges of running her business, the Rs. 1000 she receives through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana has been a lifeline, enabling her to cover essential expenses and manage her household needs. Even on days when business is slow, this financial support helps her meet her responsibilities without added strain.

Expressing her deep gratitude, she acknowledged the positive impact of the initiative launched by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. She believes the scheme has brought much-needed stability to her life, serving as a pillar of support during difficult times.
