Sports to the Villages of Punjab Season 4 begins in Patiala as Dr Balbir Singh urges youth to embrace sports, build discipline and stay away from drugs.
Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh has called upon the state’s youth to actively participate in sports and stay away from drugs. He made the appeal at Polo Ground, Patiala, during the inauguration of district-level competitions under Sports to the Villages of Punjab Season 4.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Balbir Singh highlighted the important role sports can play in shaping the lives of young people. He said sporting activities provide youth with a constructive way to channel their energy while encouraging discipline, confidence and a positive competitive spirit.
Sports Can Give Youth a Positive Direction
Dr Balbir Singh said that participation in sports is not limited to physical fitness. Regular involvement in sporting activities can also help young people develop discipline, self-confidence, teamwork and determination.
He urged the youth of Punjab to make sports an integral part of their daily lives and take advantage of opportunities available through Sports to the Villages of Punjab Season 4.
The initiative aims to bring sporting activities closer to young people at the grassroots level and provide them with opportunities to participate in organised competitions.

Under Sports to the Villages of Punjab Season 4, district-level competitions are being organised to encourage greater participation in sports and strengthen the sporting culture at the local level.
