Sukhpal Khaira: “Because Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann singled me out and his government filed five cases against me in two years, I am the Congress candidate from Sangrur.”

Sukhpal Khaira made this claim while speaking to a group of Congressmen that former Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla had organized here today.

Additionally, Khaira stated that he had no interest in running from Sangrur, but that he eventually decided to do so in response to Mann’s challenge and the party’s support for his candidacy.

Regarding the Shiromani Akali Dal’s refusal to provide Parminder Singh Dhindsa a party ticket, Khaira claimed that SAD chief Sukhbir Badal was attempting to politically assassinate Dhindsa. He asserted that SAD will receive barely hundreds of votes in relation to the ticket to Iqbal Singh Jhundan from Sangrur.

Khaira added that the AAP’s political graph was declining and that the party’s cadre members were now dissatisfied. Additionally, he projected that the Congress would win 13-0 in the Punjab Legislative Assembly elections. Since the cadre opposed the alliance, the party had not forged one with the AAP in Punjab.

Former Minister of Education Vijay Inder Singla said that since Congress workers had suffered horrendous treatment from the AAP government over the previous two years, the people ought to elect Khaira to the Lok Sabha because he had the courage to stand up to the government for the rights of both Congress workers and the constituency.

Sangrur district president Dalvir Singh Goldy, Barnala district president KS Dhillon, and former Sangrur MLA Surinderpal Singh Sibia were among the leaders in attendance.
