Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has revealed that he turned down a ₹40 crore offer to endorse a tobacco brand, prioritizing his health, family, and personal values over financial gain. In a recent podcast with Peeping Moon, Shetty opened up about why he has consistently refused tobacco endorsements despite the lucrative offers.

Suniel Shetty emphasized that his health has been the cornerstone of his successful career. He said, “I owe everything to my health. It’s my body that gave me a chance in the film industry. If I don’t treat it with respect, I’ll be doing myself an injustice. I want to leave a positive legacy for my children, Ahan and Athiya, and my extended family, including KL Rahul.”

The actor revealed, “I was offered ₹40 crore for a tobacco advertisement. I looked at them and said, ‘Do you really think I’ll fall for it?’ I won’t. Even if I needed that money, I will not promote something I don’t believe in. It would leave a blemish on my children and everyone I care about. After that, no one even dares to approach me with such offers.”

Suniel Shetty’s decision comes amid growing debates over celebrities endorsing tobacco and alcohol products. He will next be seen in Welcome To The Jungle, part of the Welcome franchise, featuring an ensemble cast including Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Lara Dutta, Raveena Tandon, and Disha Patani. Originally slated for a December release last year, the film’s release has now been postponed to later this year.
