Swiggy Launches ‘Drops’ for Limited-Time Chef-Curated Dishes
New Delhi, May 21 — Swiggy, one of India’s leading food delivery platforms, has unveiled a new feature called “Drops”, aimed at transforming food ordering into an exclusive and highly anticipated experience. The feature introduces limited-time, chef-curated dishes created in collaboration with some of India’s most loved food creators and iconic restaurants.
Designed to bring a “drop culture” feel to food, similar to hype product launches in fashion or tech, Swiggy Drops offers exclusive dishes in small batches for a limited period, with pre-registration and a waitlist mechanism adding to the sense of urgency.
Among the first culinary partners featured in the Drops rollout are Le15 Patisserie by Pooja Dhingra, Smash Guys by AB Gupta, Aubree, Ciclo Café, Louis Burger, Good Flippin’s Burgers, TwentySeven Bakehouse, and Espressos AnyDay. These dishes are unavailable on regular menus, making each “drop” a one-of-a-kind experience.
“Drops is designed for urgency and exclusivity,” said Sidharth Bhakoo, Chief Business Officer of Swiggy Food Marketplace. “It gives our users a chance to try something completely new, created by the chefs and brands they love, and available only on Swiggy.”
The feature is not only captivating customers but also proving valuable for restaurant partners. Kishore Kumar, Founder of Aubree, shared that “Drops created serious buzz for us… we saw a 58% increase in orders compared to the same day the previous week.” He added, “Thanks to Swiggy, every drop feels like a celebration.”
AB Gupta, Co-founder of Smash Guys, echoed the enthusiasm: “The response was phenomenal—we clocked over 100 orders within the first 10 minutes!” Gupta emphasized that the novelty of the format turned food delivery into a full-fledged experience.
With the success of its early drops, Swiggy appears poised to push boundaries in food-tech innovation, blending culinary creativity with digital excitement. The company plans to launch bigger, bolder drops in the coming weeks, keeping both foodies and restaurateurs on their toes.
Swiggy has yet again reimagined how India eats—this time, one exclusive bite at a time.
