Tarunpreet Singh Sond officially took charge as Punjab Power Minister and reviewed electricity projects with PSPCL and PSTCL officials.
Punjab Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond has officially assumed charge as the new Power Minister of Punjab. Soon after taking over the responsibility, he began reviewing the functioning of the power department and held an important meeting with senior officials.
During the meeting, the minister interacted with officials from Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) and Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited (PSTCL). Detailed discussions were held regarding the current status of the power sector, electricity supply management, and the progress of ongoing infrastructure and development projects across the state.
Tarunpreet Singh Sond sought updates on various projects and directed officials to ensure that all ongoing development works are completed within the stipulated timelines. He emphasized that improving electricity services for the people of Punjab remains one of the top priorities of the government.

The newly appointed Power Minister also reviewed strategies aimed at strengthening the overall power distribution system in the state. Discussions focused on improving administrative efficiency, modernizing departmental operations, and ensuring transparency in power-related services.
During the review meeting, officials briefed the minister about existing challenges in the electricity sector and the steps being taken to improve uninterrupted power supply in both urban and rural areas. Tarunpreet Singh Sond instructed the department to work proactively toward resolving public grievances related to electricity services at the earliest.
He stated that the Punjab government is committed to building a more reliable, transparent, and technology-driven electricity system for consumers. The minister added that modernization of the power infrastructure and timely completion of projects would play a major role in strengthening the state’s energy sector.
