Youths express satisfaction over arrangements in place at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex

Chandigarh, July 21-

Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex of Panchkula, located in the foothills of the Shivaliks, has become witness to a well-organized Physical Measurement Test (PMT) as thousands of candidates are reaching this international-level sports stadium with their family members every day for the physical standard test being organized by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission for 5000 posts of Police Constable (General Duty). Notably, the Khelo India Youth Games were also successfully organized at this stadium in 2022.

Sh. Himmat Singh, Chairman of Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC), said the physical standard test of 2000 candidates was conducted on July 16. After this, increasing the number in a phased manner, 5000 candidates are being called for the examination every day. The process of conducting the PMT examination of male and female candidates is proposed to be completed by August 10, 2024.

The huge crowd of candidates at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex was a testament to the fact that the youth were excited to serve in the Haryana Police.

The candidates who came to take the examination were surprised to find the Chairman of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission among them. Those who had given the PMT earlier said this was never seen in the examinations conducted in the past. Dharmendra Kumar from Ateli Mandi of Mahendragarh district, Ravi Yadav from Palra of Jhajjar, Rohit from Manka of Ambala, Pawan Kumar from Pahladgarh of Bhiwani, Sagar from Jat Majra of Sonipat, Amar from Bhiwani, Sonu from Gamra of Hisar, Anuj from Narnaund of Hisar, Hariket from Jind, Prateek Kumar from Palwal, Sarveen from Balla village of Karnal and Sahil from Gohana said they had appeared in the examination for recruitment in the Haryana Police two to three times earlier but this time, the arrangements made by the Commission were far better.

Giving details, Sh. Himmat Singh said in the first phase, physical standard test will be conducted till July 23, 2024. After this, the schedule of the second phase will be released. In the final phase, PMT will be conducted for the posts of 1000 Mahila Police Constable (General Duty). He said special bus arrangements have been made by Haryana Roadways for the convenience of the candidates from Singhpura Bus Stand of Zirakpur to Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex. Apart from this, parking arrangement has been made near the Indian Oil Pump on the Devi Nagar side. Along with this, drinking water tankers and mobile toilets have also been installed.

Himanshu Kadian of Chhota Bilana of Sonipat district, who was a participant of Khelo India Youth Games and came for the physical standard test, said it was the most modern stadium in the state. He said this was the third time when he was participating in the examination organized for recruitment in the Haryana Police. Although he is an under-trainee in the Delhi Police, it is his dream to get recruited in the Haryana Police. He said he was impressed with the arrangements made by the Commission for the PMT examination this time.

It is noteworthy to mention that during the PMT examination, Commission Chairman Sh. Himmat Singh personally inspected the arrangements and also gave necessary instructions to the staff deployed on duty for the convenience of the candidates.
