Bikaner House: percussionists of Delhi Drum Circle paid tribute to the famous tabla player late Zakir Hussain with their percussion playing
The sound of various musical instruments mesmerized the visitors present at the Sunday Market held every Sunday at Bikaner House in New Delhi this Sunday. In this mild cold weather of Delhi, hundreds of tourists and visitors came to the Sunday Market and enjoyed various entertaining programs.
Officials of the Residential Commissioner’s Office said that Bikaner House was decorated as per the New Year theme to attract people of different age groups in this weekly Sunday market. To entertain the visitors, a special performance on tablas was organised by the percussionists of the famous Delhi Drum Circle. This performance was organised as a tribute to tabla maestro Zakir Hussain. Additionally the musical performance included a group of percussionists along with a saxophonist.
He said that in this weekly market organized on the last Sunday of this year, hundreds of people from different sections gathered and keeping in view the winter season, various types of delicacies were also arranged. The taste of which was appreciated by all the people.
He said that there was tremendous enthusiasm and excitement among the people towards the stalls of organic products, bags, woolen clothes, sustainable fashion, artisan chocolates, antiques and other products in this market.
He said that the increasing number of tourists and visitors coming to this weekly market, which started from November 10, week after week, is a proof of its popularity.
