According to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned ₹16.50 crore net on Day 1 and matched that figure on Day 2 (Sunday), bringing its two-day total to ₹33 crore in India. These numbers are especially impressive considering Mission: Impossible 8 has not yet released in the US or other major global markets, where it is slated to hit screens on May 23.
Mission: Impossible 8 Outpacing Marvel at the Indian Box Office
In just two days, The Final Reckoning has outperformed the lifetime collections of several recent Marvel titles in India. Thunderbolts grossed ₹22.50 crore during its entire run, while Captain America: Brave New World managed a slightly better ₹23 crore. Cruise’s franchise juggernaut has leapfrogged both films in record time.
The current haul also represents 30% of what Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One earned in its lifetime in India two years ago, indicating a much stronger overall performance for this latest installment.
Looking Ahead
The real test for the film begins today (Monday), as weekday drops often determine long-term box office performance. Industry experts say that if the film maintains a steady pace through the week, it is likely to cross the ₹50 crore mark in India by the end of its first week.
Positive word-of-mouth and strong reviews are fueling optimism among trade analysts. Globally, Mission: Impossible 8 is being pegged as a serious contender to become the first film in the franchise to gross over $1 billion worldwide.
