Lanez’s Prison Sentence and Legal Background
Lanez is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence following his 2023 conviction for three felony gun-related charges. These charges are connected to a 2020 incident in which he shot fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion (real name Megan Pete) in the foot during an argument. The altercation occurred after a pool party at reality star Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood mansion.
Megan Thee Stallion testified during the trial that the argument escalated inside a vehicle, leading Lanez to shoot at the ground while shouting at her to “dance.” She later underwent surgery to remove bullet fragments from her foot.
