CM Nitish Kumar : 74 schemes were inaugurated and foundation stones were laid.
CM Nitish Kumar today remotely inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 74 development projects worth over Rs 890 crore in the premises of Adarsh Mahila Thana in Jamui district during the fourth phase of Pragati Yatra. Out of this, Rs 764 crore has been allocated for 58 schemes and Rs 814 crore for 16 schemes.
The Chief Minister inspected various development projects in Jamui district, including aerial survey of Lachhuar temple in Khaira block and arrival at helipad at Dhawantadhar village. Later, he took stock of the cage culture project under Reservoir Fisheries Development Scheme at Garhi Dam.
CM Nitish Kumar inspected the expansion and concretisation of the proposed Upper Kiul reservoir scheme, as well as the Garhi-Lachuar road and bridge scheme. He took detailed information of these schemes from the officials and also inspected the proposed site for development of eco-tourism site near Garhi Dam. He directed to make this place attractive and develop facilities for tourists.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Women Police Station in the premises of Adarsh Mahila Thana and inspected the arrangements in its buildings. He also inaugurated the Government Women Degree College, Jamui constructed at a cost of Rs. 554.54 lakh.
CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated the Model Anganwadi Centre at village Shikharia and met the children and encouraged them. Inaugurating a playground built at a cost of Rs. 9.90 lakh at village Sonpai and interacting with the players, he advised them to take interest in sports along with education.
Further, the Chief Minister inaugurated the pond constructed at a cost of Rs. 35.50 lakh under Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan and directed to pay special attention to its deepening and beautification.
Later, CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated a Joint Labour Building constructed at a cost of Rs. 467.76 lakh at village Sonpai. He inspected various parts of the building by cutting lace and unveiling the plaque.
Later, CM Nitish Kumar inspected the stalls put up by various departments in the premises of Adarsh Mahila Thana. He inspected the stalls of Industries, Health, Rural Development, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Fisheries, Labour Resources, Social Welfare, Transport and Education departments. On the occasion, the Chief Minister distributed token cheques to the beneficiaries of various government schemes, including Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, Startup Yojana, Student Credit Card Scheme, District Gaviya Vikas Yojana, Deshi Gau Palan Yojana, Mukhyamantri Nishkat Vivah Protsahan Yojana, SC / ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, Ayushman Card and Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana. He also handed over keys of tricycles to differently abled persons.
The Chief Minister handed over token cheques of Rs. 1.64 crore to 164 beneficiaries under Bihar Laghu Udyami Yojana and Rs. 2 crore to beneficiaries of Mukhya Mantri Udyami Yojana. Also, keys were handed over to the beneficiaries of subsidized e-rickshaws under the Chief Minister Block Transport Scheme.
Besides, the Chief Minister enquired about the work being done by the Jeevika Didis of Self Help Groups and their products. He handed over token cheques of Rs. 8.85 crore to 2,314 Self Help Groups, Rs. 61.32 crore to 9,010 groups and Rs. 4.27 crore to 933 Jeevika Didi beneficiaries. Interacting with the Jeevika Didis and appreciating their work, the Chief Minister said that in 2005, the number of self-help groups in Bihar was very less, to increase which the government took a loan from the World Bank and took this campaign forward. He said that in Bihar, this scheme was named Jeevika, due to which the central government named it Aajeevika.
Praising the Jeevika Didis, CM Nitish Kumar said that they are becoming self-reliant and empowered, which has greatly improved their economic and social condition. He wished the students good luck and continued progress. Jeevika Didi thanked the Chief Minister and said that her initiative has made her life better and has given her a new identity.
