In a significant move to enhance public safety, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that small fire stations will be set up every 100 kilometers along the state’s expressways. This initiative is aimed at ensuring quick response times in case of accidents and emergencies, further bolstering the state’s emergency services infrastructure.
CM Yogi Focuses on Modernizing Fire Services
During a review meeting of the Fire Services Department on Thursday, CM Yogi emphasized that fire services should go beyond just extinguishing fires. He stressed the need for the department to evolve into a comprehensive disaster management and emergency response unit capable of handling various crises such as rescue operations, chemical and biological emergencies, and situations involving super high-rise buildings.
CM Yogi instructed officials to equip the fire department with modern tools and ensure that personnel receive the highest quality training. Given the state’s rapid industrial growth, urbanization, and increasing population, the Chief Minister urged that the department must become more modern, efficient, and sensitive to public safety needs.
New Positions and Infrastructure Development in Fire Services

A dedicated accounts cadre will be set up in every district to ensure better administrative efficiency and financial transparency. Additionally, the Chief Minister gave the green light to establish 98 gazetted and 922 non-gazetted posts, significantly boosting the department’s operational strength.
Deployment of Fire Units at Key Airports
The CM Yogi Adityanath was informed that new operational fire units have already been deployed at several key airports across the state, including Kushinagar, Azamgarh, Shravasti, Kanpur Nagar, Ayodhya, Aligarh, Moradabad, Chitrakoot, and Sonbhadra. These additions will ensure enhanced safety measures at critical transportation hubs.

CM Yogi Adityanath’s latest announcements reflect his vision for a modernized fire service department that can meet the growing demands of a rapidly developing state.
