UP CM Yogi Adityanath flags off Ekta Yatra in Gorakhpur to celebrate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, promoting patriotism, unity, and national pride among citizens.
Gorakhpur witnessed a spectacular display of patriotism as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led the historic Ekta Yatra, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The event showcased a sea of tricolors, resonating chants of “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” and a vibrant atmosphere filled with patriotic fervor.
The Yatra commenced from the Municipal Corporation premises in Gorakhpur City, CM Yogi’s home constituency, and proceeded to Vishwambhar Pathak Park near Geeta Vatika, reflecting a strong spirit of unity and national pride.
Before flagging off the march, CM Yogi paid homage to his revered guru, late Mahant Avedyanath, and also garlanded the statue of Rani Lakshmibai, honoring her role in India’s First War of Independence. He further offered tributes to Bharat Mata and Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, the creator of the iconic national song “Vande Mataram.” The Yatra was formally inaugurated with the garlanding of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at Town Hall.

Accompanied by public representatives, including the Jal Shakti Minister, CM Yogi walked alongside enthusiastic citizens waving tricolors and chanting patriotic slogans. Streets were adorned in the colors of the national flag, symbolizing unity and collective pride. Citizens from all walks of life, including students, traders, cultural groups, and social organizations, lined the route to shower flowers and cheer the Chief Minister.
In a touching moment, CM Yogi interacted with a young boy holding a portrait of Sardar Patel near Gandhi Ashram, accepting the portrait and blessing him. The route also featured cultural performances at Jalkal Bhavan, Gandhi Ashram, Baldev Plaza, and Kali Temple, celebrating India’s rich heritage and patriotism. Upon reaching the Kali Temple, the Chief Minister offered prayers to Goddess Kali, garlanded Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s statue, and marked the continuation of the Yatra toward its final destination.
The Ekta Yatra in Gorakhpur not only honored Sardar Patel’s legacy but also reinforced the message of national unity, patriotism, and collective responsibility, inspiring citizens to uphold the values of India’s founding leaders.
