Many schemes are being run in the state for the welfare of disabled people. - The pension amount of Rs 300 per month given to disabled people was increased to Rs 1,000. Currently, 11 lakh disabled people are getting the benefit of pension of Rs 12,000 per year.
Provision of 04 percent reservation for disabled people in government services, Rs. 3,000 per month being provided as leprosy pension.Disabled persons are being provided artificial limbs and assistive devices like motorized tricycle, wheelchair and smart stick.
A provision of Rs 40 crore was made for free travel of disabled people in Transport Corporation buses.Incentive amount is provided to the beneficiary under the Marriage-Marriage Incentive Award Scheme, amount is provided to the beneficiary under the Shop Construction/Operation Scheme, the amount given for surgery was increased from Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000.
An amount of Rs 06 lakh is given for cochlear implant by the Backward Class Welfare Department in the year 2016-17.The total budget was Rs 1,295 crore, which was increased by about 116 percent to about Rs 2,800 crore.
In the year 2016-17, a total of Rs 107 crore was allocated for Purva Dasham scholarship and 05 lakh 19 thousand students were benefited from it.We increased it to Rs 160 crore 16 lakh, now 07 lakh 58 thousand students are benefiting from it, while currently spending Rs 2,070 crore.
The benefit of post-10th scholarship and fee reimbursement is being provided to 19 lakh 80 thousand students, an increase of about Rs 1100 crore has been made in comparison to the year 2016-17.About 07 lakh additional students are being benefited from this. Under the marriage grant scheme, in the year 2016-17, 70 thousand daughters were benefited with an amount of Rs 141 crore.
Presently 01 lakh daughters are being benefited with an amount of Rs 200 crore.

Today is National Advocates Day and also the birth anniversary of the country’s first President, freedom fighter, fierce advocate and Speaker of the Constituent Assembly, Dr. Rajendra PrasadWhile congratulating on World Disabled Day and National Advocates Day, he said that Rishi Ashtavakra, great poet Surdas, physicist Mr. Stephen Hawking, who presented the theory of the universe to the world and who is currently giving a new direction to the society with his divine voice.There are many examples in front of us like Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya ji, who proved that he is no less than anyone. In order to develop the talent of the disabled, the state government runs Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University in Lucknow and Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Disabled State University in Chitrakoot. Apart from this, colleges are run for visually impaired, deaf and dumb children. There is a need to increase their number. These include deployment of trained teachers,They need to be given good honorarium, facilities and good training. There is a need to empower the disabled through technology, so that the society, country and the world can take advantage of their talent. CM Yogi Adityanath ji said that today 19 eminent personalities and 46 meritorious students have been honored with state level awards.There was a lot of sweetness in the songs of the disabled girls who presented the welcome song in the programme. This shows his talent. Here 40 disabled people get assistive devices And tablets have been distributed to 324 disabled students. Scholarship worth Rs 54 crore 38 lakh has been sent to the accounts of 02 lakh 53 thousand 211 students belonging to backward class through DBT. This work has been completed by the department before time. Computer training certificates have been given to 28 youth belonging to backward classes.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath said that many schemes are being run in the state for the welfare of disabled people. In the year 2017, 07 to 08 lakh disabled people used to get a pension of Rs 300 per month. We increased this amount from Rs 300 to Rs 1,000 and made arrangements to send the money directly to the beneficiary’s account. At present 11 lakh disabled people are getting the benefit of pension of Rs 12,000 per year. With the inspiration of former Governor Shri Ram Naik, Rs 3,000 per month is being provided as leprosy pension. The government has taken steps towards providing a house to these families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana or Chief Minister Awas Yojana.
Yogi Adityanath ji said that 04 percent reservation has been made for disabled people in government services. Apart from this, artificial limbs and assistive devices like motorized tricycle, wheelchair and smart stick are being provided to the disabled people. A grant of Rs 06 lakh is being given for cochlear implants for deaf and dumb children. Ramps, toilets and other facilities have been developed for the convenience of disabled people in all government buildings and government institutions. For free travel of disabled people in buses of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation.

Yogi Adityanath ji said that under the Shaadi-Marriage Incentive Award Scheme, if the husband of a couple with 40 percent disability is disabled, Rs 15,000 will be given. In case the wife is disabled, an incentive amount of Rs 20,000 is provided and in case both husband and wife are disabled, Rs 35,000 is provided.Under the shop construction/operation scheme, the beneficiary will be given Rs 20,000 for the construction of the shop and Rs.An amount of Rs 10,000 is provided for operating Gumti or hand cart. Under this, about 500 disabled people have been benefited so far in the financial year 2024-25.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that the amount of Rs 8,000 given for various types of surgeries has been increased to Rs 10,000. An amount of Rs 06 lakh is given for cochlear implant. Under this, 24 cochlear implants have been completed so far in the year 2024-25. Many institutions like pre-primary, childhood day care centers are being run in the state.Mentally retarded shelter homes cum training centers are operated in Meerut, Bareilly and Gorakhpur in the state. There is a need to increase these works at a faster paceThe government has made arrangements for e-office for the disabled, e-learning resource centers in schools and online budget monitoring. To ensure that the disabled people do not have to travel very far, work should be done to provide them facilities at the local level.

Under the Post-Death Scholarship/Fees Reimbursement Scheme, in the year 2016-17, 13 lakh 64 thousand students were benefited with post-decade scholarship and 11 lakh 13 thousand students were benefited with fee reimbursement worth Rs 983 crore.At present, by spending Rs 2,070 crore, 19 lakh 80 thousand students are being provided the benefit of post-10th scholarship and fee reimbursement. There has been an increase of approximately Rs 1100 crore in comparison to the year 2016-17. About 07 lakh additional students are getting benefited from this. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Class Welfare and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Shri Narendra Kashyap, while addressing the program, said that Yogi Adityanath ji has established the identity of Uttar Pradesh on the world stage. The result of the Chief Minister’s willpower and love for the disabled is that there has been rapid progress in all the schemes run for the welfare of the disabled in the state. Earlier scholarships were distributed in the state in the month of March. With the inspiration of the Chief Minister, arrangements have been made to give it on 3rd December only.
