UP NEWS: The spectacular parade of the Indian Army, marchpast, vibrant cultural programmes and tableaux enthralled the audience at the Republic Day celebrations. The 76th Republic Day was celebrated today in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, with enthusiasm and dignity. Governor Smt Anandiben Patel took the salute of the parade at the main Republic Day function held in front of Vidhan Bhavan. Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed the Governor and extended warm greetings to him on the Republic Day. Colourful cultural programmes, tableaux, marchpast and display of Indian Army’s weaponry enthralled the audience. The parade was led by Major Hridayansh Singh Gill. BMP-2 Sarath tank, 105 mm Light Field Gun and Light Strike LSV vehicle were displayed on the occasion. Floral showers were also showered on the parade venue from a helicopter during the parade.
