UP NEWS : The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu presented medals and degrees to meritorious students at the 11th Convocation of the and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the President stressed the importance of animal welfare, biodiversity and scientific research. He said that there is a need to promote start-ups, modern technology and innovations in the veterinary sector. He also emphasised on adopting the concept of ‘One Health “and maintaining ecological balance. Also, appreciated efforts like conservation of vultures and ban on harmful drugs.
He said that animals are an integral part of our lives and it is only through their welfare that the entire society can remain healthy. The President described the increasing participation of girl students as encouraging and urged the students to work with a spirit of service and compassion.
Referring to the cultural and historical importance of Bareilly, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appreciated the research work being done by IVRI in the field of veterinary medicine. He informed that this institute has made significant contributions from Covid-19 testing to lumpy skin disease vaccine.
Lauding the scientific achievements of the institute and its role in rural development, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan exhorted the students to contribute to the service of the nation.
A large number of students, teachers and office staff of the college participated in the programme.
