Greater Noida, May 10, 2024: India’s largest consumer market is in the state of Uttar Pradesh, which has the most population. The State comes in second for ease of doing business and adds more than 8% of India’s GDP. The first “UP International Trade Show (UPITS)” was organized last year by the Uttar Pradesh government in collaboration with India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML), Greater Noida. The show’s second edition is slated to take place at India Expo Centre and Mart on September 25–29, 2024. UPITS is an important gathering that attempts to unite companies, professionals, and leaders in the industry on a worldwide scale. It is anticipated that a wide range of industries, including textiles, manufacturing, technology, agriculture, healthcare, tourism, and more, would be represented. Companies can showcase their goods and services, connect with possible partners, and look into business prospects in the area by using the B2B and B2C platform offered by UPITS.
Shri Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, Departments of Sports, Youth Affairs, MSME, Khadi & Village Industries, Handloom & Textile, Government of Uttar Pradesh, visited India Expo Centre & Mart to review the preparation and the action plan for the next edition in order to have an even bigger and better UPITS’24. Mr. Manish Kumar Verma, DM, Gautam Budh Nagar; Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, India Expo Centre & Mart; Mr. Sudeep Sarcar, CEO, India Expo Centre & Mart; and additional representatives from India Expo Centre & Mart were present at the review meeting.
During the review discussion, Shri Alok Kumar said that Uttar Pradesh is not as well-known as a number of minor countries, therefore it is critical that UPITS be used to showcase the state’s potential as a worldwide economic powerhouse. The participants have a great chance to promote Uttar Pradesh as a hub for global sourcing. Furthermore, we need to make it clear to purchasers that they really must attend. He also talked about a lot of innovative approaches to grow the program, like asking a partner state. He also emphasized the need to promote other programs like GI tag, ODOP, and others.
The chairman of India Expo Centre & Mart, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, gave an update on the show’s ongoing preparations and gave his guarantee that any and all suggestions would be taken into consideration in order to make UPITS a huge success, leave a lasting impression on the audience, and establish it as an international standard indigenous sourcing fair. Dr. Kumar went on to say that a third party will be involved in the analysis of the information gathered from the fair. The real revenue made will raise the event’s legitimacy and aid in the formulation of subsequent plans. He continued by saying that UPITS would include a wide range of business sectors, such as MSME, Tourism and Hospitality, Health, Textiles, Agro and Food Processing, Start-Ups, Uttar Pradesh GI tags, Toy Associations and Craft Clusters, Handloom and Textiles, Micro and Small Enterprise Cluster Development, ODOP, and numerous others.
A comprehensive marketing effort was suggested by Shri Manish Kumar Verma, DM, Gautam Budh Nagar, with the goal of outpacing the turnout and achievements of the previous edition of UPITS. “We are also planning to extend our promotional efforts to the Delhi region in order to attract a broader audience,” he continued.
The CEO of India Expo Centre & Mart, Mr. Sudeep Sarcar, announced that UPITS 2024 will receive significant promotion. Roadshows, targeted meetings, and boosting outreach and engagement through a variety of media are examples of promotional efforts that make sure important demographics in different locations are aware of and excited about the impending trade show.
