In the last four and a half years, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Dhami has made a total of 4,332 announcements for the state’s development. Out of these, 2,444 announcements have been successfully implemented, 417 are still pending, and 345 were withdrawn due to practical or technical challenges.
During a recent review meeting of government projects, CM Pushkar Dhami emphasized the importance of accountability and regular monitoring to ensure timely execution of development initiatives. The meeting, attended by top bureaucrats including the Chief Secretary, focused on speeding up pending projects and identifying programs that cannot be completed.
Department-wise Implementation
The Public Works Department (PWD) had to withdraw the highest number of 90 announcements, mainly due to issues with connectivity standards and PCU compliance. The Education Department could not complete 55 announcements, while 45 irrigation projects remain pending. CM Pushkar Dhami announcements stressed the need for departments to propose alternative solutions, such as using private or forest land for educational projects when government land is unavailable.

All pending road constructions and other works are to receive government orders (GOs) immediately. Drinking water projects will be assessed within 20 days to determine which works can be completed. Additionally, guest houses will be constructed in all districts on state property under PWD supervision, and new construction proposals will be submitted to the government.
Kumbh Mela and Char Dham Preparations
CM Pushkar Dhami announcements also highlighted the state’s preparations for the upcoming Kumbh Mela and Char Dham Yatra. The Chief Minister has set strict timelines to ensure all projects related to the Kumbh are completed on schedule. Regular reviews are being conducted in Haridwar and Dehradun, and inter-departmental coordination is being strengthened to remove bottlenecks.
Other Key Points
Regarding the demand to award Bharat Ratna to late BSP founder Kanshiram, CM Dhami said such decisions are taken at the central government level. He added that voters across the country prioritize the “double engine” government model, and collaboration between the state and central governments has enabled faster and more effective development.
