District Magistrate Nainital Vandana Singh has informed that the number of devotees in the famous religious place Kainchi Dham Mela is increasing rapidly every year. About 24 lakh devotees visited Kainchi Dham in a year as against an average of around 8 lakh in previous years. The number of devotees is expected to increase further this year. District Magistrate Nainital Vandana Singh said that the capacity of Kainchi Dham is less, while during the fair, devotees come many times more than the capacity. With an expected footfall of 2.5 lakh to 3 lakh devotees this year, a systematic plan has been prepared for traffic management and crowd control.
He suggested to implement a registration system for the devotees coming to Kainchi Dham in future and set a maximum limit so that the yatra can be made safe, orderly and smooth.
