Uttarakhand News : The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, on Saturday digitally transferred the 20th installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) from Varanasi to the accounts of more than 9.71 crore farmers of the country. Under this, an amount of Rs. 184.25 crore has been transferred to 08,28,787 beneficiary farmer families of Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami joined the event virtually from Garhi Cantt, Dehradun.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is constantly working to double the income of the farmers and raise their standard of living. With the release of the 20th installment of the scheme, more than Rs 3300 crore has been provided to the farmers of Uttarakhand. He said that after 2014, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, historic steps have been taken for the welfare of the farmers of the country. Farmers are being provided fair prices of their crops by increasing the minimum support price on major crops. Through the ‘Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana’, farmers are also being provided protection cover for losses due to natural calamities, crop diseases and pests. Through the ‘Soil Health Card’ scheme, the farmers are also being informed about the lack of nutrients and necessary fertilizers by conducting scientific investigation of the soil of the fields, which is improving both the quality of their produce and the fertility of the land.
The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is continuously working for the upliftment and prosperity of the farmers of the state. Farmers are being given interest-free loans up to three lakh rupees. A subsidy of up to 80 per cent is also being provided through the Farm Machinery Bank Scheme for purchasing agricultural equipment. Irrigation from canals has been made completely free in the interest of farmers. A provision of Rs 200 crore has also been made for the construction of polyhouses to increase the income of farmers. Apart from providing a bonus of Rs 20 per quintal to farmers on wheat procurement, the price of sugarcane has also been increased by Rs 20 per quintal.
The Chief Minister said that several important schemes like New Apple Policy, Kiwi Policy, ‘State Millet Mission’ and ‘Dragon Fruit Policy’ have been implemented by the state government at a cost of Rs 1200 crore. Under these policies, farmers are being provided subsidy up to 80 per cent to promote horticulture. He said that Uttarakhand has been ranked first in the country in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals issued by NITI Aayog. Uttarakhand has also emerged as a leader in providing employment to the youth of the state. In one year, the unemployment rate was brought down by 4.4 percent. Uttarakhand was the first state in the country to enact a Uniform Civil Code.
After the implementation of effective anti-copying law in the state, about 24 thousand youth have been provided government jobs. Strict anti-conversion and anti-riot laws have been implemented in the state. Taking strict action against land jihad in the state, more than six and a half thousand acres of government land has been freed. Operation Kalnemi has also been launched in the state, through which strict action is being taken against the hypocrites. Agriculture Minister Shri Ganesh Joshi said that Uttarakhand has been awarded as the “Best State in Millet Sector” for the year 202324 at the International Nutricereal Convention held in Hyderabad. The State has received National Awards from the Government of India for its outstanding work in the field of Soil Health and Fertility Planning and Organic Agriculture.
He said that Harsh Singh Dangwal, a farmer from village Sunkia of Nainital got the “Jaivik India Award,” while Uttarkashi got the second position in “One District One Product” for red paddy and Haridwar and Tehri districts got the first and second position respectively in the PM Fasal Bima Yojana. On this occasion, MLA Mrs. Savita Kapoor, Mr. Brij Bhushan Gairola, former MP Mr. Balraj Pasi, Secretary Mr. S.N.
