Uttarakhand NEWS : Folk literature of Uttarakhand to be digitised Protected CM said that long-term literary sevi will be awarded State Government to create a linguistic map of the dialects of Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan emphasises on starting the circulation of books instead of gift books in the state Work should be done in the direction of digitisation of dialects, folk tales, folk songs and literature of Uttarakhand. A library should be created for this purpose. Along with increasing the collection based on folk tales, audio-visuals should also be made on them. Speech, essay and other competitions on the local dialect should be organised in schools once a week.
A large-scale festival of Uttarakhand language and literature should be held, in which litterateurs from all over the country should be invited. A linguistic map of the dialects of Uttarakhand should be made. This was stated by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami while presiding over the general body meeting of Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan. The Chief Minister has appealed to the people of the state to promote the circulation of books instead of gift books in the state.
It was decided in the meeting that the amount of Uttarakhand Sahitya Bhushan Samman will be increased from 5 lakh to 5 lakh 51 thousand. The state government will also confer the long-term literary service award, which will carry a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh. To encourage young writers towards Rajbhasha Hindi, Youth Columnist Competition will be organised. It will include young creators in two age groups – 18-24 and 25-35. It was agreed to take the help of big publishers to provide books and literature related to different subjects to the readers along with the provision of mobile libraries to the remote places of the state. The language institute will work towards promoting local dialects by creating short videos to increase children’s interest in folk languages. It was decided in the meeting that in order to preserve the ancient Pandavani singing ‘Bakna’ in Jaunsar Bawar area, it will be archived.
Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan will conduct a comprehensive literature collection of eminent dramatist ‘Govind Ballabh Pant’, a compilation of literature published by litterateurs of Uttarakhand 50 to 100 years ago in various journals of India and research projects for the conservation and study of high Himalayan and tribal languages of Uttarakhand. 2 literary villages will be set up in the state for creating literature among nature, seminars among litterateurs, discussions.
Languages Minister Shri Subodh Uniyal said that in the last three years, many new initiatives have been taken by the Bhasha Sansthan in Uttarakhand. Rapid efforts are being made to preserve and promote languages as well as promote local dialects. To encourage people in the direction of language, many awards are being given by the state government. On this occasion, Principal Secretary Raji P.
