Vasudev Devnani: A 4 kilometer long and 100 feet wide road will be constructed from Lohagal to Zanana Hospital.
Speaker Vasudev Devnani on Tuesday held an inter-departmental coordination meeting at the Circuit House here to review the condition of city roads and their quality. lSpeaker Vasudev Devnani on Tuesday took stock of the condition of city roads and held an inter-departmental coordination meeting at the Circuit House to discuss their quality. Vasudev Devnani instructed the officials to take necessary precautions and ensure quality during road construction. District Collector Lok Bandhu, Ajmer Development Authority Commissioner Nitya K, Municipal Commissioner Deshal Dan, and officials of RSRDC, Public Works Department, Public Health Engineering Department and Tata Power were also present in the meeting.Vasudev Devnani instructed the officials in the meeting about the precautions and quality to be taken during the road construction. The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Ravinder Kumar, Director Rural Sanitation, Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, Chief Planning Officer, Ashok Khajuria, Assistant Commissioner Development, Angrez Singh, PO IWMP, Sushil Kesar, District Panchayat Officer, Rachna Sharma, besides BDOs, JEEs, Panchayat Inspectors, Gram Sewaks, GRS were present on the occasion.
Speaker Vasudev Devnani directed to make five major roads in the North Assembly constituency a model road. These model roads will be designed as smart cities with improved lining, pothole-free roads and improved road lighting. The five model roads include Mittal Hospital to Telephone Exchange, Central Bus Stand to MDS Tiraha, Bikaner Sweets from Vaishali Nagar to Makadwali, Mahavir Circle to Foysagar Lake, and Jawahar Theatre to Shastri Nagar Chungi Chowki and Janana Hospital via Lohagal. He has set a target to complete the construction of roads on both sides below the elevated road by February 8. Also, proper arrangements should be made so that the water of the elevated road does not damage the roads below. Downhill roads should also be prevented from being damaged by rain, and slopes have been instructed to prevent waterlogging. The thickness of the roads should be as per the prescribed standards.
In the meeting, Vasudev Devnani directed the officials of the Department of Posts and BSNL to widen the road under the elevated road from Agra Gate to Soniji Ki Nasiya by 10 to 15 feet. Earlier, to widen the road, he had met Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, and the Union Minister had also given necessary instructions to the concerned department. During the meeting, Vasudev Devnani also directed to get the work of construction and repair of major roads of Ajmer city done by Ajmer Development Authority and Municipal Corporation. Along with this, he gave the responsibility to the Chief Engineer and higher officials for monitoring and checking the quality of roads, drains and other development works that have been inaugurated. He said that under the budget announcement, the construction of drains with Rs 24 crore will be started soon, and its tenders will be opened in the second week of February. Apart from this, the drains will also be constructed by the municipal corporation and the authority at a cost of Rs 11 crore.
He also directed for construction of 4 km long and 100 feet wide road from Janana Hospital to Lohagal towards making a new route for entry into Ajmer city. Through this road, vehicles coming from Jaipur to Ajmer will be able to reach Panchsheel and Shastri Nagar area through Janana Hospital, Lohagal directly from Kayad Rest Place Bypass. After getting instructions from Vasudev Devnani, the authority commissioner and chief engineer went to the spot and took stock of the situation.
In the meeting, Vasudev Devnani expressed displeasure over the non-completion of construction works of many roads despite starting them and directed to complete them soon. Road construction work from Stephen Square to Lohagal Road via Jhalkari Bai Memorial and drain construction work on Foysagar Road are pending. Shri Devnani directed all the road construction departments to work with better coordination among themselves and directed the concerned officials to remove practical bottlenecks like water pipeline and electric pole shifting. He said that if any problem arises in this coordination, it should be resolved by contacting District Collector Shri Lok Bandhu.
