Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) arrests absconding accused Rajat Jakhmi, owner of Rajat Enterprises Nabha, for misappropriating ₹40.85 lakh in government grants. He was wanted in a case involving fund embezzlement for gram panchayats in Amloh block, in collusion with then BDPO of Fatehgarh Sahib, Kulwinder Singh Randhawa.
An official Vigilance Bureau spokesperson revealed that FIR No. 37 was registered on August 9, 2024, at Vigilance Bureau Police Station Patiala range under IPC Sections 409 and 120-B, along with Sections 13(1) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The case involves five accused, including Randhawa, now DDPO, who allegedly diverted government funds to private entities.
Three accused—Randhawa, private individual Hanspal, and Satwinder, owner of Amloh Enterprises—have already been arrested. The VB is continuing its investigation and pursuing the remaining accused.
