ADGP G. Nageswara Rao Takes Charge as Punjab Vigilance Bureau Chief, Pledges Firm Action Against Corruption
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) G. Nageswara Rao, IPS, officially assumed charge as the Chief Director of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) at Vigilance Bhawan, SAS Nagar.
Reaffirming Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision for a corruption-free Punjab, Mr. Rao stressed that the state government’s zero-tolerance policy on corruption would be strictly implemented across all government departments.
Emphasizing the need for efficient administration and transparent governance, the newly appointed Vigilance Bureau pursue cases rigorously in court to ensure strict punishment for those found guilty. He urged field officers to remain alert, proactive, and uncompromising in their mission to eradicate corruption.
Issuing a strong warning, Mr. Rao stated that no Vigilance Bureau officer or official would be spared if found engaging in corrupt practices. Recognizing the importance of public participation, he encouraged citizens to actively report corruption through the Chief Minister’s Anti-Corruption Action Line, contributing to a more accountable system.
To evaluate ongoing vigilance efforts, Mr. Rao has scheduled a meeting with all Vigilance Bureau SSPs on February 19 at SAS Nagar to review pending cases and vigilance enquiries.
