As part of the Punjab Government’s determined efforts to eliminate corruption from governance, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has registered 32 cases involving 70 individuals since February 18, 2025. The ongoing anti-corruption drive has resulted in the arrest of 20 accused, including 12 revenue officials, 10 police personnel, 8 local government officials, 7 rural development and panchayat department officials, and 2 power corporation officials.
An official Vigilance Bureau spokesperson disclosed that the cases comprise 11 trap cases, 20 criminal cases, and one related to disproportionate assets. Reaffirming its commitment to intensifying the crackdown, the Bureau urged the public to report corruption through the Chief Minister’s Anti-Corruption Action Line at 9501 200 200.
The spokesperson emphasized that eliminating corruption and its damaging effects on governance remains a top priority for Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. To encourage citizen participation, the government has launched an AI-powered, user-friendly WhatsApp platform under the CM Anti-Corruption Action Line, allowing the public to lodge complaints of bribery easily.
“This innovative platform enables citizens to report corruption 24/7 by submitting audio and video evidence, ensuring swift grievance redressal while protecting the public from harassment,” he stated.
The Vigilance Bureau also warned that accepting bribes in any form will not be tolerated, and strict action will be taken against offenders. The Chief Minister’s call for a corruption-free Punjab has garnered strong public support, with citizens actively participating in this transformative initiative.
