Virat Kohli‘s popularity in Pakistan is no longer a surprise, with fans often seen wearing jerseys bearing his name during ICC tournaments. Now, that admiration has made its way to the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL).
During the clash between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi, a fan was seen wearing a white t-shirt with ‘King Kohli’ printed on it — a moment that quickly went viral on social media.
In the match itself, Karachi Kings edged past Peshawar Zalmi with a two-wicket win on Monday. Batting first, Peshawar posted 147/8 in their 20 overs, thanks to a 46-run knock from Babar Azam. In response, David Warner scored his first-ever PSL half-century to guide Karachi to victory.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is currently representing Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The former RCB skipper is in scintillating form, having scored 322 runs in eight matches, placing him fifth in the Orange Cap race for the tournament’s highest run-scorers.
For the first time ever, the dates of the PSL and IPL are overlapping, with the IPL being considered the top franchise T20 league in the world. Typically, the Pakistan Super League is held in February, just before the IPL.
Due to Pakistan hosting the ICC Champions Trophy in February, the 10th season of the PSL began on April 11 and will run until May 18. In contrast, IPL 2025 kicked off on March 22, with the final scheduled for May 25.
PSL 2025 Standings
In the six-team competition, Islamabad United lead the table with four wins from as many matches. Karachi Kings are second with 6 points, followed by Lahore Qalandars (4), Peshawar Zalmi (2), Quetta Gladiators (2), and Multan Sultans (0).
