Outrage Over ‘Pink Elephant’ Photoshoot in Jaipur, Social Media Slams Photographer
In Jaipur, a photoshoot featuring a pink-painted elephant has sparked massive outrage online.
The shoot was conducted by Russian photographer Julia Buruleva, with images going viral on social media.
Many users and wildlife lovers criticized the act, calling it animal cruelty and objectification of animals.
The viral photos, originally shared in December 2025, resurfaced recently, reigniting the controversy.
The photographer clarified that organic, locally made paint was used, claiming it was safe for the elephant.
Members of the Elephant Village in Amer stated that the color was washed off within 30 minutes after the shoot.
Despite clarifications, critics argue that animals should not be used as decorative props for creative projects.
