Prakash Jha Wanted Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif Together in ‘Raajneeti’
Prakash Jha recently revealed that he had initially envisioned both Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra sharing the screen in his political drama Raajneeti, opening up about the casting choices that almost were.

Speaking candidly, Jha shared that he initially offered Priyanka the lead role in Raajneeti alongside Ranbir Kapoor. However, due to her commitments abroad, Priyanka couldn’t take up the project. “I actually wanted to cast both Katrina and Priyanka together. But Priyanka had other plans,” Jha said.
The filmmaker also reflected on his previous work with Priyanka in Jai GangaaJal, where she played a gritty cop—originally a male role—highlighting her versatility and star power. Despite her Hollywood commitments pulling her away from Bollywood, Jha praised Priyanka’s journey: “Today I am so, so happy to see how far she has come—much further than any of us could have imagined.”
